Ghent is conveniently located and easily accessible by various means.

By plane
Brussels Airport is only a short while from Ghent.
By train it is about 1 hour. By car it is also about an hour travel via the highway E40 highway.

By train
From Brussels Airport (the station is called "Brussel-Nat-Luchthaven"), either take a direct train to Ghent (station Gent-Sint-Pieters), or take a train to the city of Brussels and change trains there. In both cases, the train might have its final destination further on, so please check the schedules or ask at the ticket office. If changing in Brussels, any of the stations North (Noord/Nord), Central (Centraal) or South (Zuid/Midi) will do. Train services between the city of Brussels and Ghent are regular. However, whether going directly from the airport to Ghent or with a change in Brussels, do make sure to catch the express service (takes slightly over 30 mins.) since there are slow trains too (via Aalst). Also, please note that a surcharge applies ("Diabolo fee") for tickets from and to Brussels Airport, which is included if you buy a regular ticket. Train schedules can be consulted on the website of the Belgian railways (NMBS/SNCB).

There are several high-speed train services to Brussels from Paris, Köln and Amsterdam (Thalys) and from London (Eurostar).

From the station Gent-Sint-Pieters in Ghent, it is best to take tram 1 and get off at "Korenmarkt". The stop is close to the conference venue. Public transport schedules in Ghent can be found on the website of De Lijn.

By car
From Brussels Airport, first take the Brussels ring road (R0) in the direction of Ghent, then get on the E40 highway.

From Brussels, take the E40 highway to Ghent, then, approaching Ghent, turn on the E17 highway (direction Antwerp) and take the exit "Gent-Centrum".

From Antwerp, get on the E17 highway to Ghent and, when approaching Ghent, take the exit "Gent-Centrum".

From the "Gent-Centrum" exit on the highway, follow the parking signage to any of the underground parking garages nearest to the venue and hotels: "Parking P7 Sint-Michiels", "Parking P8 Ramen", or "Parking P1 Vrijdagmarkt".
